Watch: Go Inside the 'Will & Grace' Revival with Entertainment Weekly Cover Story

READ TIME: 1 MIN.

The cast of "Will & Grace" are covering the newest issue of Entertainment Weekly, with the magazine exploring the revival of the seminal '90s sitcom.

The cast and crew of the NBC comedy explain how the "Will & Grace" reboot came to be and how they plan to move past the series finale, which showed the characters drifting apart over the years.

"Why not say these two people are still living together?" star Eric McCormack told EW. "They've had heartbreaks and they're still together. And rather than making that something to be frowned on, let's celebrate that."

"Will & Grace" co-creator Max Mutchnick confessed it was pretty easy to get the cast and crew for the show's revival.

"We gave them a date and brought everybody back together. Everybody pretty much to a person, say for about three people, they showed up," Mutchnick said. "We had everybody from the pilot do this. It was incredible. In front of and behind the camera, we had every single member."

Megan Mullally added that the idea came to her after the gang filmed the special election video to support then Democratic presidental candidate Hillary Clinton last year.

"I was sitting on the couch in my house, reading the script and then I emailed Max and I said, 'Why can't we do this show again?' And he emailed right back saying 'We can!'" she told EW.

"Will & Grace" returns rather soon: September 28 on NBC. Watch a clip from EW about the revival below. Read the magazine's story about the show by clicking here.
