Anti-Gay Pastor Claims Gaga, Spielberg, Aristotle & More are Co-Workers Under Satan

Kevin Swanson, the pastor who has denounced girl scout cookies and repeatedly called for gays to be put to death, has a warning for parents. - Lady Gaga, Steven Spielberg and even 19th-century author Nathaniel Hawthorne are all in league with the devil.

Right Wing Watch published a video of Swanson during a conference in Cincinnati last weekend in which he warned evangelical parents about perils of exposing children to secular culture. Swanson, a homeschooling advocate, took particular aim at Darwin, Aristotle, Marx, Nietzsche and even "Tom Sawyer" author Mark Twain.

"Now, Charles Darwin, Lady Gaga, and Steven Spielberg are under the control of the Evil One," Swanson told the crowd. "1 John 5:19 says the whole world is under the sway of the Evil One, under the sway of the devil, the devil has absolute control over them. [...]They don't see that Aristotle is under the sway of the Evil One, under the absolute control of this very powerful, malignant force called the devil, and they don't see that Steven Spielberg and Lady Gaga and Charles Darwin are under the absolute sway, the control, the force and the power of the devil himself. So, therefore, they absorb any of the ideas that may come their way through these means."

In what maybe was a "back-to-school" themed sermon, Swanson warned of reading works by two of America's most celebrated classic authors - Mark Twain and Nathaniel Hawthorne. Swanson claimed that Twain "at points might have been possessed by Satan himself." Of Hawthorne, Swanson claimed he "must have been affected by some demon."
