True Detective? Kevin Spacey Returns to Movies Playing Detective Investigating Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Blind Artist

After more than four years, Oscar-winning actor and accused sexual predator Kevin Spacey is returning to movie-making in a case of art and life oddly converging.
"The 'House of Cards' star is reportedly being lined up to play a detective who investigates a wrongly-accused paedophile in 'L'uomo che disegnò Dio' ('The Man who drew God')," reports the Daily Mail.
The film is to be directed by actor Franco Nero, reports the website RT, and will co-star his wife, actress Vanessa Redgrave.
"I'm very happy Kevin agreed to participate in my film," Nero told ABC News, RT writes. "I consider him a great actor and I can't wait to start the movie," he said.
"Spacey, previously one of Hollywood's A-listers, saw his prolific career collapse in late 2017 after several men accused the celebrated actor of sexual assault and inappropriate behavior. The allegations, some of which revolved around events that supposedly happened in the 1980s, were levelled during the height of the #MeToo movement," writes RT.
"The actor admitted that at times he may have acted inappropriately, but he denied the more serious allegations, such as groping and assault. Spacey also came out as gay in response to the controversy."
Spacey has been absent from television and movies since 2018 when he was cut from "House of Cards" when his character Frank Underwood was killed off. Ironically, his public appearances since then have been in the form of holiday YouTube messages in which he appears to be channeling Underwood. When the scandal broke, the actor was canceled from the film "All the Money in the World" when director Ridley Scott chose to reshoot his role with the late actor Christopher Plummer, who received a Best Supporting actor Oscar nomination for his role. His last released film, "Billionaire Boys Club," came out in 2018 and, RT observed, "earned just $618 from a total of 11 theaters across the US during its opening week, according to Hollywood Reporter."
