Anti-LGBTQ Virginia Pol Bob Marshall Gets Skewered by Sister Following Defeat
READ TIME: 1 MIN.
It's not like he didn't beg for it.
As the author of Virginia's failed North Carolina-style bathroom bill, things were pretty bad for Bob Marshall to lose his 13-term House of Delegates seat to a transgender candidate. But when a member of your own family takes time to publicly blast you following the most crushing defeat of your career, it's time to re-examine your rhetoric.
A Facebook post embedded into Twitter blasting the anti-gay Republican post went viral on Wednesday from the unlikeliest of sources - Bob Marshall's own sister, actress Paula Marshall Nucci, 53, who spanked him for (among other things) misgendering his challenger, Danica Roem.
With reoccurring roles on numerous sitcoms like "Two and a Half Men" and "Californication," Paula Marshall has been a busy working actress for over 25 years. Although details about the closeness of her relationship with her brother are unclear, it's apparent that they reside on opposite sides of the political spectrum.
As her brother was getting trounced by nine points by Roem, Nucci tweeted the following:
As for Roem, after being thrust into the spotlight for defeating Marshall, she issued perhaps the classiest response to someone who didn't deserve one.
When asked about Bob Marshall, Danica Roem said "I don't attack my constituents. Bob is my constituent now."
