Moore, Bannon & More Scheduled to Make America Hate Again at DC Summit
READ TIME: 2 MIN.
Next weekend in Washington, D.C., hoards of Fox News viewers and religious right extremists will descend on the Omni Shoreham Hotel for the annual Values Voter Summit-- a three-day LGBTQ, Muslim and women's rights "bashapalooza." And with the Trump/Pence Administration in power, this year's convention will be extra special.
"The latest additions to next week's Values Voter Summit are no strangers to today's news," read an e-blast sent out by hate group Family Research Council on Thursday. Steve Bannon, executive chairman of Breitbart News, and his pick for U.S. Senate seat in Alabama, Judge Roy Moore, will be adding to the who's who of the conservative movement at next week's Summit."
And by a "who's who of the conservative" (read anti-LGBTQ) movement, FRC ain't kidding. Joining Moore and Bannon on the list of confirmed and invited speakers are: former US Rep. Michele Bachmann, would-have-been TV stars turned anti-LGBTQ activists David and Jason Benham, anti-muslim Fox contributor Sebastian Gorka, anti-LGBTQ US Rep Vicky Hartzler, civil rights hypocrite Dr. Alveda King, "Duck Dynasty"'s Al and Phil Robertson, Kim Davis' lawyer Mat Staver and host hate group leader Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council.
"This is Bannon's first time on the big stage at VVS," read a statement released by the Family Research Council. "For Judge Moore, who made plenty of fans with his longtime defense of religious liberty, the Summit is familiar turf. We look forward to hearing from both men, who are behind one of the biggest grassroots efforts to hold the Republican Party accountable. We're also happy to announce that Dr. Sebastian Gorka, national security and counter-terrorism expert, will be tackling some of the biggest issues of the day in his session on Friday."
Invited (but not confirmed) are Senator Marco Rubio, US Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Speaker Paul Ryan, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Failed GOP presidential-hopeful turned-failure of a HUD Secretary Ben Carson, and President Donald Trump.
