Preacher Claims Katy Perry is 'Ruled by Satan'

A few weeks after accepting the National Equality Award at the 2017 Human Rights Campaign gala in Los Angeles, pop star Katy Perry is being called out by former Colorado state Rep. Gordon Klingenschmitt for being "ruled by Satan."

"When I was growing up homosexuality was synonymous with the word 'abomination' and 'Hell,' a place of gnashing of teeth, continuous burning of skin and probably Mike Pence's ultimate guest list for a BBQ. ... So most of my unconscious adolescence, I prayed the gay away at my Jesus camps," Perry told the crowd at HRC's gala in March.

Although Perry was roundly praised for her remarks that night, Klingenshmitt believes that she is "ruled by Satan."

"If you had been sincere in your prayers at the Jesus camps, you would have prayed against sin and the devil," Klingenschmitt said on a recent episode of his "Pray In Jesus Name" program. "You would have repented of your sin and invited Jesus to rule your heart. But apparently that's not what you prayed."

Klingenshmitt addressed Perry directly, suggested more Jesus camps and said that she "need(s) to get the devil out of you."

He later prayed for her by name that "she would stop promoting sin to young people."
