This Black History Month, Nike has released a video promotion focused on bringing equality to the forefront.
"Equality should have no boundaries," Michael B. Jordan voiced over in the commercial. "The bond between players should exist between people. Opportunity should be indiscriminate."
Among other athletes, the video features gay professional soccer player Megan Rapinoe. In a behind-the-scenes video, Rapinoe discussed her experience as an LGBT athlete.
"Being a gay woman in this country in sport, wherever I am in the conversation, it's there," she said. "Just my responsibility making sure that I speak up about it and speak up for other people and hopefully grow that movement in that way."
The commercial also includes LeBron James, Victor Cruz, Gabby Douglas and more. Alicia Keys provides the music, a cover of Sam Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come."
"The ball should bounce the same for everyone," Jordan continued in the video promotion. "If we can be equals here, we can be equals everywhere."
Nike is also selling Equality T-shirts, available on their website. AdWeek reports Nike plans to donate $5 million "to numerous organizations that advance equality in communities across the U.S." this year.
"At the end of the day, we're always just trying to find a way that we can all feel equal," James said in the behind-the-scenes video. "We can all be equal, have the same rights, have the same feelings, being able to be in the same place no matter the color."
